Assessment

Language assessment is a complex task. Per ACTFL's recommendations, language assessment should test a student's writing skills, listening skills, speaking skills, reading skills, and intercultural competence. As such, language assessment can take many forms. Below are a few of the forms of assessment that I have implemented recently.

  • Student-written books

  • Recorded speech using Flipgrid

  • Student-created comic strips

  • A class book of recipes

  • Family trees

  • Green screen skits

  • PowerPoint presentations

  • EdPuzzle listening assessments using French realia (news segments, cartoons, interviews, recordings)

  • Reading assessments using French realia (articles, infographics, letters, catalogs)

Assessment Design

The following documents are assessment materials that I created for a project in the MAFLT program. The documents include a presentation, a report, and the assessment tool & corresponding video.
